Into the watery depths we go with the 3rd and final super new moon of the year. This new moon is going to be deeply emotional but also deeply healing. Remember that you are not your emotions, you are simply the one that is experiencing them. Your emotions, your thoughts, your story are not who you really are. They are simply the cloak that you wear as you travel from place to place in this journey called life. Sometimes we have to do what is uncomfortable, sometimes we have to face whatever is lurking within the shadows of our fears and doubts. In these moments of wading through what is uncomfortable, we are reminded that even when things burn to ashes and crumble around us, even when things in our lives are shedding and we can’t recognize ourselves in the mirror, that this is all part of the great cycle of death and rebirth.
While this new moon has some deep and sobering energy, it is also beautifully aspected with the planet Jupiter. Jupiter is known for allowing us to see the silver linings in things. Even if we can’t see the full journey, or understand the full extent or what is happening around us, there is energy under this new moon that beckons us to remember that things are always changing and transforming and while we may not have control over it all, we do have control over how we choose to show up and respond.
On this new moon here are a few ritual recommendations:
- Set a worthwhile intention
Every month, the moon delivers us an extra boost of intention-setting energy. Why not hone it by focusing on one or two intentions you’re particularly passionate about?
Take some time to craft intentions that are clear, concise and as specific as you can make them. Consider writing them down and then taping them to your window until the light of the next full moon shines on them.
- Light a candle
Or bring some light into your life in some other way. Lighting a candle on the darkest night of the month signifies our desire to bring just a little more light into our lives. Ask the universe to shine light on you during this new moon and all the ones that follow it.
- Begin something new
The new moon is the most fertile day of the lunar cycle each month. If there was a perfect time for initiating anything new, it would certainly be the new moon! Start a new class, put in that application, or start anything you feel passionate about.
