Cancer Full Moon – December 29, 2020

The end of 2020 is reflected by a special Cancer full moon that is energetically concentrated on all things feminine.  You might remember that last January in the beginning of 2020 we started off with the first full moon of the year in Cancer.  This year will end with another full moon and most all of the planets moving in a forward direction, this will create much forward momentum going into 2021.

With a full moon in Cancer you can expect an emotional time.  Cancer is the sign of the mother and the ultimate nurturing cardinal, water sign.  Take some time this full moon to nurture yourself.  If any old traumas or childhood wounds arise then visualize letting them go tonight.  Pay attention and listen to your gut feelings/instincts and make the most of every opportunity that comes your way.  Chance encounters might lead to new friendships.

This full wolf moon is also in harmonious relationship to Uranus.  However, Venus is square Neptune and conjunct the South Node suggesting over-attachment to outdated pleasures, connections, or things could arise.

Try to make time to nourish yourself in all ways this week.  Make healthy, nourishing meals.  Any domestic task represents the sign of Cancer so consider tacking a small task in your home or office.  Take time to nurture your relationships within your home and community.  You should feel very comfortable expressing unique sides of your personality.  This is a great time to break old habits and replace them with something new.

Try one of these brief Full Moon rituals tonight:

  • Spend some time bathing in the moonlight even if it’s just 10 minutes (take advantage of witnessing this powerful partial eclipse full moon).
  • Take a bath or longer shower and enjoy the cleansing properties of the water (water is always associated with the moon). As you cleanse your body, make an intention to cleanse yourself of any unwanted energy.
  • Sit a mason jar out with water and allow it to bathe in the moonlight. Add crystals like amethyst or rose quartz.  Be sure to bring it in the morning before the sun has risen entirely if possible.  You can use this enhanced water for your plants, bathing, or dump it in a ritual manor.
  • Light a candle, cleanse your home and your own body with sage or Palo Santo. Spend a few brief minutes in meditation (pull some tarot cards if that’s your style).
